LCD display is connected to PCB by 16-PIN male & female header and is easily detachable from the main board. 16-PIN Male Header must be soldered to LCD display. 16-PIN Female Header must be soldered to PCB.
Some components are mounted off board. Use the included pictures and schematic as a guide when mounting these components. One wire link must be made on TOP layer of PCB near BF199 transistor and one on the bottom of PCB.
When meter is powered “50 MHz Counter” message should be displayed on LCD display. A second after meter should be ready to measure the input frequency with “0.000000 MHz” being displayed on the display. If no text is visible adjust the LCD contract by trimming 10K trimpot counter clockwise.
To test the meter connect input terminal (C4) to PIN-15 to measure the frequency of onboard 4.000 MHz crystal. LCD should display 4.000000 MHz value.
